About Xinyi
Dr. Lu joined the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ (UNH) in Fall 2010 upon completing her PhD. In addition to her 10+ years teaching experience at UNH, Dr. Lu has experience in higher education and public accounting in China.
Dr. Lu finds accounting fascinating because of its critical role in the business world-providing information to help interested parties such as managers, investors, creditors, regulators to make sound decisions. The courses Dr. Lu teaches range from introductory courses for all undergraduate business students to courses for the specialized Master of Accounting (MSA) program. In her intro courses for all business students, she prioritizes demystification of accounting, focusing on the big picture of financial statements and using real-world examples to showcase the relevance of accounting in daily life and business careers. In the courses for MSA students, she challenges students with rigorous material to leverage their existing knowledge and practical experience. While teaching is her top priority, Dr. Lu keeps active in research. She has published several scholarly journal articles and has presented her research at national and international conferences. Dr. Lu finds UNH is an ideal place for her because it calls on her to be both a dedicated teacher and a productive researcher.
